Symptoms and treatment - Sexual gland cyst, diagnosis and prevention of aquarium fish disease. Description of the disease, symptoms, clinical presentation and treatment methods

Content:

Usually the disease is chronic. In this case, the abdomen with liquid or semi-liquid contents, due to the developed tumor, greatly increases in size. If treatment is not started on time, it will lead to infertility and death of the fish.

Causes: Causes of the sex gland cysts are a long separate content of males and females. Lack of suitable conditions for spawning, excessive and uniform feeding of dry food.

Treatment: In the initial stage of the disease, the fish is placed on wet cotton wool and lightly stroking the abdomen makes the contents of the cyst exit through the anus. Not all fish that survive after this are able to breed.

Prevention: It is not necessary to keep males and females separately for a long time.

Other names:
Pathogen:

Symptoms: bloating

Strongly enlarged abdomen (it seems that the fish is ready for spawning) due to the presence of a saccular formation with liquid or porridge contents.

Description:
The disease proceeds chronically, therefore it is detected more often very late, when milk or caviar has already undergone changes.
The reason is a long separate content of males and females, excessive feeding of them with monotonous dry food. With the advanced form, the fish are barren and, as a rule, die.

How to treat:
It can be cured only in the initial stage of the disease. To do this, put the fish upside down in cotton wool moistened with aquarium water and gently stroking it from the pectoral fins to the caudal fin, squeezing the contents of the cyst through the anus.

Prevention:
Prevention of the disease boils down to the full feeding of fish with a variety of live food and timely mating of producers.
